Vsako življenje se enkrat konča. Vsi hišni ljubljenčki se z leti postarajo. Izguba hišnega ljubljenčka ni nič manj boleča ali travmatična od smrti družinskega člana.
Boleče je tudi, da se ponavadi v tisti žalosti pozabimo posloviti od pokojnega hišnega ljubljenčka. V tisti žalostni zmedi tudi ne vemo kaj naj storimo s trupelcem.
